Join Vitalant, women’s health advocates, participating hospital blood drives and the community to honor and support women who have experienced pregnancy-related complications. Mother, baby, or both may need blood. Rates of obstetric blood product transfusion have increased 33% since 2001.*
 
We're celebrating Mother's Day all throughout May. You can honor the women in your life all month long with a blood donation.

Here are the ways you can make sure your donation honors this cause:

  • Register through the Donate for Mothers Virtual Blood Drive link in your state (listed below), then make sure to use the same email when you make your donation appointment and donate at any Vitalant donation center or blood drive.

Kristin, pictured with her family, suffered an amniotic fluid embolism during her second pregnancy. Kristin survived because she was able to get 26 blood transfusions. In a subsequent pregnancy complication during the birth of her fourth child, Kristin received another 16 blood transfusions to save her life.
