  3. Donor care specialist will review results and determine the best way for you to donate.

  4. Relax while your specialist prepares materials and equipment.

  5. Specialist will clean an area on your arm and insert a sterile needle to begin.

  6. Samples of your blood will be collected for testing.

  7. You will then complete the whole blood donation process, which can take up to 15 minutes (usually 1O).

The prize does not include the actual vehicle but rather a specified monetary amount to be used towards the purchase. Prize will be distributed to the winner’s selected dealership. *

Important information:

  • Winner will be notified via phone or email sometime on or around Aug. 21, 2026. 
  • Giveaway is open to U.S. residents, who are at least 18 years of age on the date of the selection of the grand prize winners (on or around Aug. 21, 2026). 
  • The value of one vehicle, not to exceed $30,000, will be paid to the winner’s chosen dealership. If the selected vehicle exceeds $30,000, only $30,000 will be provided to the dealership, and any additional costs will be the winner’s responsibility, including taxes, fees, and associated expenses.  
  • The prize does not include the actual vehicle but rather a specified monetary amount to be used towards the purchase.  
  • Prize will be distributed to the winner’s selected dealership. The winner must provide dealership contact information and bill of sale before funds are released to the dealership. 
  • Some donors may qualify for additional promotions during this same time frame.
 

FAQs

Am I eligible to donate blood?
The majority of the U.S. population is eligible to give blood, but only about 3% actually do. Find out if you're eligible.
Is donating blood safe?
Donating blood is safe. Sterile, disposable needles and supplies are used once and then properly disposed. You cannot contract any infectious disease by donating blood.
How long does it take to donate whole blood?
It takes about an hour from completing the health history questionnaire through the medical screening and post-donation refreshments and snacks. The donation itself only takes about 10 minutes.
What happens to my blood after donation?
Following your donation, your transformative gift is typed, tested, processed, stored and distributed to patients who need it in the hospitals we serve. You’ll feel proud knowing you’ve saved up to three lives. When you do good for others, you do good for yourself!

*Terms and conditions apply; see official rules. Presenting donors who come to donate whole blood, Power Red, platelets or plasma with Vitalant during the promotional time frame (July 9-Aug. 8, 2026) and complete a donor eligibility interview will automatically qualify for the random drawing. Valid email address is required. Limit one (1) entry per donor eligibility interview, or one (1) entry for non-donation, per person per day, up to four (4) times during the promotional period. One (1) winner will be selected and notified by email or phone on or around Aug. 21, 2026. Giveaway is open to U.S. residents who are at least 18 years of age on the date of the selection of the grand prize winners. Offer is non-transferable and not redeemable for cash. Void where prohibited. Giveaway begins July 9, 2026, and ends August 8, 2026. Donors are eligible for other promotions during this promotional time frame. The prize winner of this Summer Car Giveaway is not eligible to win the prize in Vitalant’s local Arizona Summer Drive to Save Lives Giveaway. Primary drive coordinators who host and complete a blood drive during the giveaway timeframe will automatically be entered into the drawing. Limit one entry per qualifying account host.
