Must donate Sept. 11-30 to receive a Halloween T-shirt and be automatically entered to win one of two $10,000 gift cards. Donor Rewards program opt-in required.

Important information:

For T-shirt:

  • T-shirt will NOT be handed out at the blood donation location.
  • Donors must come to give blood, platelets, plasma or Power Red Sept. 11-30 qualify for the promotion. Donor Rewards program opt-in is required.
  • Within two days after donation, donors should log in to their account, then click “Rewards” and “Redeem Rewards” to enter the online Donor Rewards store to order their T-shirt. (Note: there are no bonus rewards points associated with this shirt; donors who qualify will see it displayed in the online donor store.)
  • New donors should opt in to the Donor Rewards program immediately following their donation same day or following day to ensure fulfillment of promotional item.
  • Final date to redeem in the online donor store is Oct. 29, 2026.
  • Please allow up to 3 weeks to receive the T-shirt in the mail. While supplies last.
  • Some donors may qualify for additional promotions during this same time frame.
For giveaway:
  • On or around Oct. 7, 2026, two (2) winners will be randomly selected in a drawing to receive a $10,000 prepaid gift card of their choice.
  • Giveaway is open to U.S. residents who are at least 18 years of age on the date of the selection of the prize winners (on or around Oct. 7, 2026).
  • Donors must have a valid email address in their Vitalant donor record to get the instructions for how to redeem the prepaid gift card.
  • Some donors may qualify for additional promotions during this same time frame.
 

FAQs

Am I eligible to donate blood?
The majority of the U.S. population is eligible to give blood, but only about 3% actually do. Find out if you're eligible.
Is donating blood safe?
Donating blood is safe. Sterile, disposable needles and supplies are used once and then properly disposed. You cannot contract any infectious disease by donating blood.
How long does it take to donate whole blood?
It takes about an hour from completing the health history questionnaire through the medical screening and post-donation refreshments and snacks. The donation itself only takes about 10 minutes.
What happens to my blood after donation?
Following your donation, your transformative gift is typed, tested, processed, stored and distributed to patients who need it in the hospitals we serve. You’ll feel proud knowing you’ve saved up to three lives. When you do good for others, you do good for yourself!
*Terms and conditions apply; see official rules. Donors who come to donate whole blood, Power Red, platelets or plasma with Vitalant during the promotional time frame (Sept. 11-30, 2026) and complete a donor eligibility interview will automatically qualify for the random drawing. Only one donor or non-donor entry is permitted per person per day, up to four (4) times during the promotional period. Two (2) winners will be randomly selected in the drawing on or around Oct. 7, 2026, and notified using the email address provided to Vitalant. Valid email address is required. Giveaway is open to U.S. residents who are at least 18 years of age on the date of the selection of the prize winners. Instructions on how to redeem the electronic $10,000 prepaid gift card will be sent to the email address listed in each winner’s Vitalant donor record. Offer is non-transferable and not redeemable for cash. Void where prohibited. Offer is subject to change at any time during the promotional time frame. Giveaway begins Sept. 11, 2026, and ends Sept. 30, 2026. Some donors may qualify for an additional promotion during this same time frame. **Presenting donors who come to donate at a Vitalant blood drive or donation center during the promotional time frame (Sept. 1-30, 2026) are eligible to redeem their T-shirt in the online Donor Rewards store ONLY if they’ve first created an online donor account AND opted into the Donor Rewards program. Limit one (1) T-shirt per presenting donation. Physical T-shirts will NOT be handed out at the blood donation location. Offer is non-transferable and not redeemable for cash. Offer is subject to change at any time during the promotional time frame. Within two days after donation, the T-shirt will be available in the online donor store. Some donors may qualify for an additional promotion during this same time frame. Vitalant reserves the right to send a gift of equal value in replacement of presented offer. Final date to redeem T-shirt in the online donor store is Oct. 29, 2026. Please allow up to 3 weeks for it to arrive in the mail. While supplies last.
