Donor Eligibility & Rewards Information

26 Donors Will Win $500
The chance to win a $500 gift card is for participating donors who come to donate from Monday, Jan. 5 through Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026, at any Vitalant blood drive or donation center.

Donors must have an online donor account created AND be opted into the Donor Rewards program by no later than Feb. 10, 2026, to qualify for this giveaway.

Giveaway is open to U.S. residents who are at least 18 years of age on the date of the selection of the prize winners (on or around Feb. 12, 2026).
On or around Feb. 12, 2026, winners will be randomly selected in a drawing to receive a $500 gift card, redeemable in the donor rewards store.

37,100 Rewards points valued at $500 will be added to the winners’ donor accounts approximately 7-14 days after the drawing.

When the appropriate points are available, donors can redeem them for a single $500 gift card (or multiple gift cards totaling $500) of their choice in the online donor rewards store, which is accessed through their donor account.

Some donors may qualify for additional promotions during this same time frame.

Am I eligible to donate blood?
The majority of the U.S. population is eligible to give blood, but only about 3% actually do. Find out if you're eligible.
Is donating blood safe?
Donating blood is safe. Sterile, disposable needles and supplies are used once and then properly disposed. You cannot contract any infectious disease by donating blood.
How long does it take to donate whole blood?
It takes about an hour from completing the health history questionnaire through the medical screening and post-donation refreshments and snacks. The donation itself only takes about 10 minutes.
What happens to my blood after donation?
Following your donation, your transformative gift is typed, tested, processed, stored and distributed to patients who need it in the hospitals we serve. You’ll feel proud knowing you’ve saved up to three lives. When you do good for others, you do good for yourself!

*Terms and conditions apply; see official rules. Donors who come to donate whole blood, Power Red, platelets or plasma with Vitalant during the promotional time frame (Jan. 5-Feb. 8, 2026) and complete a donor eligibility interview will automatically qualify for the random drawing ONLY if they’ve created an online donor account AND opted into the Donor Rewards program by no later than Feb. 10, 2026. Only one donor eligibility interview is permitted per person per day, up to five (5) times during the promotional period. Twenty-six (26) winners will be randomly selected in the drawing on or around Feb. 12, 2026, and notified using the email address and phone number provided to Vitalant. Valid email address is required. Giveaway is open to U.S. residents who are at least 18 years of age on the date of the selection of the prize winners. Instructions on how to redeem the electronic $500 prepaid gift card will be sent to the email address listed in each winner’s Vitalant donor record. Approximately 7-14 business days after the drawing, 37,100 Rewards points valued at $500 will be applied to each winner’s donor account. Winner can redeem points for a single $500 gift card, or multiple gift cards totaling $500, within the donor rewards store. Offer is non-transferable and not redeemable for cash. Void where prohibited. Offer is subject to change at any time during the promotional time frame. Giveaway begins Jan. 5, 2026, and ends Feb. 8, 2026.
