Nov. 1, 2021 — As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, Vitalant is urging all who are eligible to give thanks for their good health, give blood or platelets and help patients who don’t get a holiday from needing blood transfusions
Oct. 18, 2021 — Nonprofit blood provider Vitalant has a critical blood and platelet shortage and is urging all eligible donors to make an appointment now. Type O blood, which is the most transfused blood type and is vital to helping patients in emergencies, has plummeted to under a two-day supply – its lowest level since May 2020.
Oct. 1, 2021 — Blood, plasma and especially platelet donations are constantly needed to help patients undergoing cancer treatments. By donating with Vitalant during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, donors can support cancer patients and those with chronic blood disorders, surgery patients, trauma victims and others with serious health conditions.
Sept. 2, 2021 — The largest nationwide SARS-CoV-2 seroprevalence survey, funded by the CDC and supported by 17 blood collection organizations, published its latest findings in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).
Sept. 1, 2021 — Donations have slowed, but the need remains strong. Vitalant is urging all eligible donors to make an appointment during National Preparedness Month in September to prevent a serious shortage and ensure a readily-available supply for large disasters and everyday needs.
Aug. 12, 2021 — Vitalant received the Chief Marketer PRO Awards top honor in its health and wellness category for the COVID Rescue Team campaign. The “gold” honor acknowledges excellence in brand activation and promotion marketing.
