A Final Letter from Mitzy Edgecomb

It’s hard to believe we are in the final stretch of 2022. As we start to wrap up the final months of the year, I come to you with bittersweet news. I have accepted a new position within the Vitalant family. I will now serve as the Vice President of our West Division and will remain involved with our selfless blood drive coordinators. As I transition into this role, you will be hearing from various blood industry professionals throughout Vitalant who will share their unique insight into the fascinating process of saving lives through biotherapy.

Blood donation is not just a career for me, but a very personal and passionate part of my life, as I have had friends and family impacted by needing blood, plasma and platelets to save their life. Every blood drive you host and every donor you inspire to donate is truly changing someone’s life for the better, whether that means one more day with their loved ones or gaining a lifetime back.

This isn’t goodbye. I’ll still be with the Vitalant family working each day to ensure patients have the blood they need so that more health battles are won. Thank you again for your selfless commitment to sharing Vitalant’s mission and helping us save lives; you are invaluable.
