MLS Scholarship
Information and Application

The Vitalant MLS Scholarship provides tuition assistance to students pursuing a career in Immunohematology (blood banking) or blood donation. Scholarship recipients commit to working for Vitalant Reference Laboratory for 36 months (3 years) after graduation.

Award Amount:

• $10,000 award towards tuition

Eligibility Requirements:

• Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) program.
• The educational institution must have an active affiliation agreement with Vitalant.
• Applicant must demonstrate an interest in Immunohematology (blood banking).

Application Requirements:

Applicants must submit the following materials to careers@vitalant.org:

• Completed Scholarship Application form
• Resume or CV
• Letter of Interest (or Cover Letter) describing:
• Why you are pursuing a career in Immunohematology (blood banking)
• Your interest in working with Vitalant Reference Laboratory
• Any relevant experience (academic, volunteers, or work)

Review Process:

• Applications will be reviewed by the Vitalant Scholarship Committee.
• Applicants will receive an acknowledgement of receipt.
• Award notifications will be sent within the published timeline.

Recipient Commitments:

• Recipients agree to work for Vitalant Reference Laboratory for 36 months post-graduation.
• Scholarships are non-transferable.
