Winter Blood Drives Save Lives

Holiday travel, winter weather, seasonal illnesses and busy year-end schedules often result in fewer blood donations during the winter months. However, patient needs don't take a holiday. Hospitals rely on blood donations every day to help accident victims, cancer patients, surgical patients and others in need of lifesaving transfusions.

You can help strengthen the blood supply this winter by hosting a blood drive in your community, workplace, school or organization.

Host a Winter Blood Drive

Host a blood drive and make a lifesaving difference in your community. As a thank-you for your support, qualifying blood drive coordinators may be eligible for special winter recognition.

November 1-30, 2026

Host a blood drive and receive a chance to win 1 of 3 $10,000 gift cards.

December 1-13, 2026

Host a blood drive and receive a chance to win a $20,000 gift card.

December 14, 2026 – January 3, 2027

Host a blood drive and receive a $15 gift card and a surprise gift.

January 4-31, 2027

Host a blood drive and collect 12 donations or more to receive a surprise gift.

Host a blood drive and engage at least 25% or more first-time donors* to receive a $25 credit to use in Vitalant's rewards store.

Important Information:

To qualify, blood drives must be hosted during the applicable promotion period and meet the stated requirements.
Virtual blood drives are not eligible for Winter blood drive coordinator promotions.
Limit one promotional item per qualifying blood drive.
Redemption instructions will be sent to the primary blood drive coordinator by email after promotional eligibility is verified.

**Important Offer Details: Offers are available only for qualifying on-site blood drives hosted during the applicable promotion periods. Some promotions require specific donation thresholds or first-time donor participation levels as outlined above. Only one blood drive coordinator per qualifying blood drive is eligible to receive coordinator rewards. Some blood drive coordinators may qualify for additional Vitalant offers. Members of Vitalant's mobile donor recruitment department are not eligible for these promotions. Other Vitalant employees serving as blood drive coordinators in their communities may qualify if all program requirements are met. Redemption emails will be sent to the primary blood drive coordinator listed in Vitalant's donor recruitment system after eligibility has been verified. A first name, last name and valid email address are required to receive redemption instructions. Physical gifts will be shipped to the address provided during redemption. Digital rewards will be delivered via email. Rewards will not be distributed at blood drives. For promotions involving first-time donor participation, a first-time donor is defined as an individual completing their first successful blood donation with Vitalant. First-time donor percentages will be calculated and verified by Vitalant following the promotion period. Blood drive coordinators who host a qualifying blood drive and donate during an eligible giveaway period may receive separate giveaway entries as both a donor and a blood drive coordinator, subject to the applicable Official Rules.
