Did you know nearly 10% of all blood donations come from school blood drives? Young donors are the future of our nation’s blood supply. Many give for the first time in high school and become lifelong donors—helping to ensure patients always have the blood they need. By supporting Vitalant’s school blood drive program, you're not only saving lives today but inspiring the next generation to lead, give, and make a lasting impact. School blood drives also empowers students to experience the impact of helping others and helps them develop valuable leadership and project management skills.

Earn T-Shirts for Committee Members
Schools that fill 95% or more of the appointments on their online schedule 3 days prior to the drive will earn T-shirts for their blood drive committee members.
Honor Cords for Blood Donors
Students who donate four or more times in high school receive an honor cord* to be worn at graduation.Your School Can Earn a Scholarship
Vitalant offers high school blood drive partners an opportunity to earn a scholarship for students. This non-competitive scholarship program recognizes high schools for hosting blood drives and helping patients. For the 2025-2026 school year, 12th grade students who donated twice will receive an honor cord.
