More than 700 Vitalant blood donors are needed every day to save patients in 72 Arizona hospitals. Vitalant is Arizona's provider responsible for meeting patient transfusion needs for 100% of the hospitals across Maricopa County and 90% statewide. The number of Americans who give blood is declining. There is no substitute for human blood and many patients cannot survive without it. Giving blood is truly a selfless and heroic act that gives life to patients.

Years at SRP: June 2026 will be 41 years of service.  Starting as a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic on night shift.
Why blood donation is important to you: There is no substitute for blood.  Everyone should donate if able, so I donate to help others.  It is really cool to get a text that my blood was sent to the hospital to save a life.  That is when it hits home, that I helped.

What would you tell another SRP employee considering donating? Donate if you are able, it is really easy and just know that you are helping someone that in a time of need, could be a possible life saving opportunity.  The coordinators are always so nice and helpful.
