Summer break from school and summer vacations mean fewer blood donations, but blood needs often increase. Summer is referred to as "trauma season" because more outdoor activities mean more accidents. You can be part of the solution by hosting a blood drive, and now is the time to take action. 

Host a Summer Drive

Host a drive, and make an impact in your community. As a thank-you for your support, you'll receive your choice of an Amazon.com Gift Card* or physical item. Physical item options include patterned knit socks, short sleeve T-shirt, long sleeve T-shirt, belt bag, wireless earbuds, raglan three-quarter-sleeve shirt or a striped beach towel.

Important Information: 

• Offers to blood drive coordinators are stackable with Vitalant’s critical day all donor promotions (ADP) and giveaways during overlapping time frames from May 1 to Sept. 10, 2026.
• To qualify, blood drives must be hosted and meet minimum collections (as applicable) during the promotion periods, May 1-Sept. 10, 2026.
• Virtual blood drives do not qualify for summer BDC promotions.
• Vitalant mobile donor recruitment team members are not eligible for the summer BDC promotions. Ad hoc requests may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Other Vitalant staff hosting a blood drive who meet the qualifiers and have an email address on file are eligible.
• Limit one gift item per qualifying blood drive.
• Accounts that meet qualifiers are eligible for recognition items per the campaign details.
• Redemption emails will be sent to the primary contact at the drive level as noted by DR in Vitalant’s software within two weeks of the close of the month in which the blood drive is hosted. 
• A first and last name and email address are required to receive the redemption email.
• When BDCs receive the redemption email, they will have the option to select an Amazon.com Gift Card or a physical gift item of equal or lesser value. 
• Physical gift items include patterned knit socks, short sleeve T-shirt, long sleeve T-shirt, belt bag, wireless earbuds raglan three-quarter-sleeve shirt or a striped beach towel. 
• Blood drive coordinators will have up to three weeks to redeem their summer gift.
• For the all-donor giveaways ($10,000 gift cards and car giveaway), reference the associated giveaway website as noted above.
• Should a blood drive coordinator request to opt out of automatic entry into the giveaway, they may call 925-732-4380 for Customer Care. They can leave their name, phone number and date of blood drive to be removed from the giveaway.
• Physical items will be mailed to the address provided during the ordering process. 
• Items will ship within approximately three weeks of redemption.
• Digital gift cards will be supplied by email to the email address provided during ordering. 
• Items will not be handed out at the blood drives.
• This offer is non-transferable and not redeemable for cash.
