We are very excited to launch this new online publication to connect more fully with our lifesaving blood donors. Why? Without blood donors, a child with leukemia may not be able to celebrate Thanksgiving with her grandparents; without blood donors, a car accident victim may not be able to watch his son play in his first little league game; and without blood donors, a new mother with childbirth complications may never know the joy of holding her newborn.

Blood donors, like you, help families stay together.

What can you expect when you read The Vital Donor? Each issue of The Vital Donor will have articles specifically written with blood donors in mind on topics like:

  • Blood recipient and blood donor stories.
  • Behind-the-scenes insights into Vitalant’s inner workings and research projects.
  • Interesting and insightful facts about blood types and the blood components you give.
  • Up-to-date information on national issues and events that affect blood donors and patients.
  • And so much more.

We hope you enjoy this first issue. When you have a minute, email us at TheVitalDonor@Vitalant.org and let us know what you think. We also welcome ideas for topics you’d like to read about in the future issues.

Thank you for everything you do for hospital patients and their families!

Sincerely,

The Vital Donor Team
