Hereditary Hemochromatosis /Testosterone Therapy

Phlebotomy for hereditary hemochromatosis or polycythemia due to testosterone therapy

Vitalant, your local blood service provider, offers specialty collections, such as blood donations from donors who require recurring phlebotomy for hereditary hemochromatosis or testosterone therapy management.

People who need blood draws for hereditary hemochromatosis or polycythemia due to testosterone therapy can make a blood donation appointment online or on the Vitalant app. In order to book an appointment online you must be eligible to donate (not deferred) and must not need to donate more frequently than every 56 days.*  If you meet these criteria, you can schedule an appointment online at any time, at your convenience.

  1. Help patients determine blood donation eligibility.
  2. Help patients find a Vitalant donation center and schedule an appointment to donate.
